How to Embrace Challenging Times

Right now, you’re probably facing a concerning challenge in your life. It might be a health issue, finances, relationships – or something else.

Every day, we go through things that ignite a spark of concern. Sometimes it’s a minor inconvenience, but other times it’s not. It’s something that’s going to upend your life – turn your world upside down whether you were prepared for it or not.

So what do you do in those situations? Well, sometimes it brings people to their knees. They panic, bury their head in the sand or break down out of sheer worry about what the future holds.

No one is saying that’s not a normal reaction, because for most people, this is what happens. And I’m also not saying you have to plaster a fake smile on your face and be upbeat about challenging times. There’s no need for phoniness.

The older you get, the more you likely see these challenges as a blip in the road. You’ve been through them so many times over the years that you expect them to occur. What’s comforting is that you’re still forging ahead. You got through things in the past and there’s nothing different about facing things this time.

Neville Goddard teaches that our reality is a reflection of our inner world. Challenges, then, become opportunities to reshape our consciousness and attract our desires.

The Creative Canvas of Challenges

Life unfolds like a vast canvas, upon which we paint our experiences with the brush of imagination. As Alan Watts reminds us, “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” Every challenge, big or small, presents an invitation to revise our inner narrative and cultivate the reality we desire.

Facing challenges is a process that strengthens you. It’s almost like building your immune system. You get a taste of something worrisome, handle it somehow, and next time, you feel slightly more fortified to get through the next issue.

The most awful part of this situation – being forced to endure challenges in life – is that they often pile up all at once. You have a financial issue, then a health problem hits, your pet needs to go to the vet for an emergency and an appliance quits working. The stress causes a rupture in a relationship due to mood issues, and it can feel as if your world is falling apart.

Feeling is the Secret

Neville Goddard emphasizes, “The world is a mirror. Change your conception of yourself and you will automatically change the world in which you live.” Challenges, though appearing external, stem from internal assumptions. When faced with difficulties, instead of succumbing to worry, we can harness the power of imagination. Abraham-Hicks states, “You are a vibrational match to what you are thinking and feeling.” By dwelling on anxieties, we perpetuate them.

Revision and the Law of Assumption

Use the transformative power of revision. When a challenge arises, visualize yourself already having overcome it. Immerse yourself in the feeling of success. Imagine the joy of resolving the situation. Persist in this feeling, and according to the Law of Assumption, your outer reality will conform to your inner conviction.

Gratitude as an Anchor

Gratitude acts as a powerful anchor during turbulent times. Shift your focus from what’s lacking to the blessings you already possess. As Abraham-Hicks reminds us, “Everything you want is already yours. It’s just a matter of lining up your vibration with it.”

Taking Action with Inspired Intent

While imagination is key, inspired action complements the process. Don’t be paralyzed by fear. Seek practical solutions, taking calculated steps towards your desired outcome. However, ensure your actions stem from a place of empowered belief, not desperate grasping.

Remember, You Are the Artist

Life’s challenges are not punishments, but opportunities for growth and transformation. By embracing this approach, we shift from passive victims to empowered creators. We cultivate a resilient spirit, knowing that within us lies the power to revise our reality and attract the life we desire.

The Invitation

The next time a challenge appears, don’t react with fear. Instead, pause, revise your inner narrative, cultivate a feeling of success, and take inspired action. Remember, you are the artist, and your imagination is the brush that paints your masterpiece.

There’s no way to get out of ever having to face things in life. Everyone has to. Some more than others. But you have what it takes to push through, manage your emotions and create the best outcome from the circumstances that you’re in. It requires a willingness to approach problems with a tactical mindset.

If you’re open to it, try this out the next time you feel reactive in response to a problem bubbling up to the surface in your life and see what a difference it makes when compared to the prospect of just breaking down and feeling hopeless about things.
